Members code_blue
Eh? Anyone do that {censored}? I have thought about it, I have done some wood carving. But Pearl is, different. Sounds like too much work.
Members mumford
I've done a lot of pearl inlay work. You'd probably have to laminate a lot of pearl together to make a single knob, and the cost and labor involved to me wouldn't be worth it. Even to just add veneer to a know would be really difficult-- keep in mind that pearl does not bend, it has to be cut or broken to make curves, and likes to break on its own. If you do decide to try it-- I cannot stress enough that you need to get a GOOD REPIRATOR mask. Pearl is very toxic and doesn't dissolve in your lungs. I had a very bad episode of pleurisy (sp?) a few years back that the doctor felt was related to inhaling pearl dust.
