Members OneEng
Has anyone have any idea when TC Helicon's HarmonyControl | Guitar is going to actually be available for purchase?
Members OneEng
I got an e-mail back from TC Helicon ...... They say end of October So given the choice between my existing VoiceWorks and an additional $200.00 for a HarmonyControl interface ... OR $450.00 for a Digitech Vocalist Live 4 I am guessing that the TC Helicon is a better bet for me. Any thoughts?
Members OneEng
Well, it is out now. Sweetwater has them at $200.00. One user has a review up and it is very positive. Does anyone have one of their own that would like to comment?

Members charbobs
Jerrye,I have now used the HCG for about 2-3 weeks now, including doing a live show, and the HarmonyControl Guitar really works and tracks excellent. The unit is built very well and a easy to read display.I strongly recommen this product, it really does what it says. Now with that said, Helicon did ship some with the Beta 3.2 Software installed.I bought one from the first batch shipped to RMC, so maybe the ones they are shipping now are with the latest software 4.5 version. The newer software is a HUGE improvement over the Beta version. Helicon E-Mailed me the new software, and it is very easy to install. We played several techniques on the Guitar, with 3 diffirent Guitars, including an Electric Acoustic, and the HGC follows perfect in Chord or Scale Mode with whatever Guitar we used. This is an excellent product Helicon has made. Here is how to check the current software Check version on TC Control: - power out - press both buttons when do power on - LED lit then press & LED gets off - another led lit then press & LED gets off - it will show you the version (3,2 or 4,5) Old Beta Version: 3,2 New version: 4,5 This is where MIDI has a vast improvement over NON-MIDI units, in software updates, fixes, or maybe even a new feature. You just download and install, very simple. Here is the Link to the manual:http://www.tc-helicon.tc/media/Harmony_Control_1-2.pdf Bottom line, this thing really will make your playing much more fun and easier without having to worry aboutt setting the right key.I have to say, I don't how I managed without it.5 out of 5 stars.I hope this helps. Members jerrye
charbobs, Thanks a bunch! This is good info. Is there a delay in recognition with the upgraded software? If so, I'll be curious to know how the software upgrades help. Interestingly, MF no longer had the TC HCG on its site, as of last night. Members charbobs
You ask about a delay. This thing tracks as good as anything I have used. There is no delay but it does take 30 seconds or so to install really, really simple. If you need the upgrade let me know and I will send it to you. I really like it and have been very happy with it. The new software greatly improves the Scale Mode. There are probally other improvements but that was the most noticable. I know you won't be disappointed with this item.RMC Audio is the best price from what I shopped around. Also Sweetwater has them in stock.
