That's not enough information to guess, If it's an unbalanced or single-ended output and it's going to a single ended input, then it will work fine. The ring wire will just be ignored. But there are combinations that won't work. Do you have the devices you want to connect?Do you have the cable you want to use to connect them?What happened when you connected them?
