Members rickidoo
So with all the wars going on it struck me - what would happen if two major Gods met in a bar, what would they say to each other. Unfortunately I am at a dead stop on this I can't seem to take the next step musically or lyrically. Oh yea if you listen the first "instrument" is the train passing behind my house... Any thoughts? Members rhino55
Love a train whistle! I think the premise is great. Musically I'd repeat the first sung verses. That section sort of feels like a chorus to me. I'd repeat the "what would your God say" part, come up with some different lyrics to flesh out the rest of it, and repeat the toast section. Riffing on some ideas for where you could take it lyrically... Did a god create man in in his image or did man create gods in his image? Are the men that are making war actually serving these gods or are they serving their own self interest? Is the situation any different then any other time in history? What is the significance of it being "just the four of us?" As an individual we might not be in a position to have a global impact, but what about the impact we can have on one person?
Members mbfrancis
Can't listen to this until later, but I love the idea. Quick thoughts:* Not sure why it's the four of us, unless you play that out in someway. So it's you and another guy and your gods (2+2)? How about the men start arguing but the gods get on fine? I.e. the problems of the world are man-made. Or how about the men start arguing and fighting and when it's done there's only one God there...it was always one god all along. Dunno...* I wouldn't have the Gods *all* drink, this rules out Islam, which deprives this of some of it's teeth. Maybe have one god say, "you know I never touch the stuff" or something like that. * Not sure about Southern drawl. Hope this helps.
Members oldgitplayer
I agree - 'southern drawls' isn't working. It is self-referential in a way that wouldn't happen in reality.
