I also have a copy of the original manual. The onboard effects do not work. I use a TC Electronics G-Major in the loop and it sounds amazing. This is by far the best solid state amp I've ever owned. So many tonal options with the channel blending features and eq's. Output section simulates tube amp output section. It made a believer out of me. Dan Pearce the creator of these amps describes specificaly his efforts of the output section of this ampreactiing like a tube amp. The amp has so many tones in it. One look at the face of this amp and you can see how many tonal options are ready to be discovered. They are hard to find and will never be made again. Dont miss out on this one for this price.
