So I was playing along with some music, and my phone (what my speaker was plugged into) fell. When it fell, the 3.5mm plug came out, and as I reached to plug it back in, the 3.5mm plug touched the 1/4in connector that was plugged into my guitar. I heard the buzz sound that you hear from the speaker when a live plug touches a surface. I am wondering, is it possible for that to have damaged my guitar in any way? Could it have sent a current through my guitar and hurt any of the electronics? Since there was electricity going through the 3.5mm plug, and it touched the metal on my connector which was plugged into my guitar. Strange question, I know, but my mind tends to wander with these things unless I ask someone about it.
I was recently given an MXR M82 Bass envelope filter, and after trying it out on guitar for about an hour, it seems like my amp may have a slight loss of volume. I didn't have the amp on loud, it was only just above 2 (it's a tweed Fender reverb deluxe reissue, 22 watts I think), but I did experiment with the whole range of the pedal volume. There were some moments of extreme bass, more than I've ever heard from my guitar, but whenever that happened I backed off and changed the pedal settings. Still, I wanted to ask if anyone thinks that could have damaged my amp or even my guitar pickups in any way. It's worth nothing that even though my amp was only on 2, the pedal probably raised the volume by at least a number when I clicked it on. Still not huge volume, but enough for me to wonder if the neighbors might hear it (they live close). What do you guys think?
I got this NUX mini studio this weekend. I'm trying to load some custom ir's onto it, but I can't get it connected. I'm hoping it's a common issue, and maybe someone else can help, because I cant find anything of a Nux forum. I keep getting random popups. One says that my firmware is too low, and I need to go to nuxefx(dot)com to update. Ok, did that. I'm now on 2.6.(although I may have been all along) Still, I get the pop-up. Also, I get the pop-up that says connection failed and to try a number of things such as unplugging and replugging. I've tried many USB cables. I've tried manual install of driver. I've tried power down/up. The end result is when I change a setting on the pedal, it is reflected on the software screen, nux editor. When I turn level up on pedal, it visually goes up on editor GUI. But, if I change something on the editor, such as an IR bank or level, it does not do anything to the pedal or it's signal. The pedal is talking to the computer. The computer is not talking to pedal. Most importantly, when I upload an IR, it shows that it's changed in the software, but no audible difference from pedal.
