Members otnas
My daughter is in a band and writes alot of songs. She writes them and records rough demos on her pc. My question is can she copyright those rough versions. In the past with her solo stuff we've waited till she recorded her songs in the studio and then copyrighted them. She's playing with a band now and I want to make sure the songs she brings to the band that she wrote remain hers since she wrote them. Whats our best way of doing this? Members BlueStrat
All you need is words and melody on a CDR sent into the copyright office. FWIW, it is legally copyrighted material the second it is put into tangible form, but registration is necessary if there is ever a question of ownership. looky here: http://www.copyright.gov/faq.html
