It's all big rip off pretty much. But I know Dexter Freebish had won the John Lennon song writing contest and that launched their career. In case you're wondering, "who's Dexter Freebish?", they had that song "leaving town" a couple years back, actually good band but didn't get much radio play.

Take it from me, if you do this you better have your song legaly yours first or you can loose it . I have heard a version of one of my tunes on the radio before. My wife does the typing for a great song writter of years past who is still fighting to get his roylity money for some that hit the country charts and have been redone by many of the top artists. Some record companies pay and keep track of this others don't. She checks places like kaaza to find anyone who has done his songs and she finds sometimes they are recorded 1-15 times by folks he never even knew did them. This happens everyday!!!

well now ya tell me, already sent a tune in. But, I gots it copyrighted so I pity the MoFo who tries to runaway w/ my tune.

I don't know, I think these comps are just like a good agent. Weed out the crap and show the good tunes to some important people via judges & compilation cd's etc.

I have faith, but I dont know. Guess I'll have to see how it turns out. Thinkin' of submitting a tune this week to the John lennon contest.
