Members bikerdude2
My band recently was approched to do a jingle, a quick 10 second spot for a local cable company. We have the jingle written and recorded, but aren't sure what is considered fair compensation. Anyone here have experience in this? This isn't a full time gig, just a little side work that will hopefully lead to more side work. Any info much appreciated. Thanks:confused:
Members BryanMichael
I charged 900.00 for a 30 second spot a few years back. I broke it down into billable hours30.00per hour apiece for me and my partner @ 15 hours=900.00 including deliverables (DAT, CD)Bry

Members *mat*
Check with your local muscians union. There are rates for this kind of thing. If you're members, (which I assume you're not because you're asking here) you'll get a standard rate. That often includes royalties, so everytime they play that spot... If you're going to be doing this kind of thing again, look into joining up.
Members BryanMichael
Um....Usually that's a "work for hire" and no royalties are generated.I wouldn't recommend joining your AFM unless you live in a big market like NY or LA or Nashville, there are alot of restrictions after you join that as well....B
