Members drummerjoe Posted July 18, 2002 Members Share Posted July 18, 2002 We got a call saying that this label (not gonna mention the name yet) is coming to see our show next week. They said they were VERY impressed with our website, mp3's and playing schedule! They told us to have a table reserved for the label president and vice president and 3 a&r people. Crazy huh?! The rep we talked to said they would get there a little early so we could have some "face time" with the label president. They dont want us telling anyone they are there, or anouncing it to anyone and they said they see this as a great opportunity for our band! So im pretty excited! And thank god its at a good venue with a professional PA, Lights and a soundman! So we have 2 shows before they come see us next week. Im excited, and a bit nervous! We shall see how it goes! I might be wrong (it's happened once or twice), but if it's the real deal, play cool, don't hump their legs when they wave an offer (no matter what it is). I really cant figure out why any of you take everything so damn seriously. but actually things are really looking good for me right now, and im pretty excited! we got a few more calls last night from different industry people! so the wheels are in motion! our tshirts should be here anytime, our mastering will be done in a few days, we got labels coming out to see us... and if we can get some time between work, school and gigs... a label in los angelas wants to fly us out for a show case! so my spirits are pretty high these days... its nice to see some hard work start to pay off! Of course, I haven't seen any links in your sig since I've been here so for all I know you're just pulling a fast one on all the people of this forum. It wouldn't surprise me since most of the posts that I've read from you on these forums have been pretty lame. Doesn't matter though. Mate, if you can't ignore a few pillocks on the net, wait 'til someone reviews your album. Post the link...if people post {censored}e on your forum, delete it. Likewise with the emails. I have had my link in my sig since I started here with no problems. Maybe if you didn't go out of your way to piss people off, they wouldn't pull that {censored}. Also, saying someone or something "suckles donkey testicles", then saying "Just my opinion" doesn't make it less of an insult. We all KNOW it is just your opinion, but it is still an insult. Anyway, best of luck with the label. My experience with them has been that if the label Pres and Vice Pres are BOTH coming to a show, then it is a pretty small label...usually out to screw us. So there for you are a comedian but a bad one at that.I write everyday and have been working hard for 15 years and finnaly I have seen a break but that still does not gaurentee success.
