Members Bassin' 'Round
Hi. I'm a crooner (Sinatra/Cole/Martin/Como/Torme, etc...) embarking on a live solo venture for corporate functions, weddings, festivals, etc...Want the highest sound quality backing tracks w/scrolling lyrics. Are .wav files the way to go? Or something else? MP3s? Suggestions for specific backing vocal sites? As a playback device, will any new PC laptop work? Or is a MacBook Pro (or an iPad) a better choice? What (if any) software do I also need to run the backing tracks?Think I have everything else...powered mains, monitors & subs, mixer, mics, cables. What am I still missing? Absolutely any/all comments/suggestions welcomed.
Members ido1957
.wav files are better sound quality than .mp3WHatever you decide to use as a playback device, make sure you always bring a second one.

Members remarkable1967
Whilst I know they are still basically karaoke discs, Zoom (Ameritz Party are the same), Goldsound (Paris Music are the same) and Off The Record are about the only ones I would recommend. You might get the odd good track with other manufacturers but they are abit hit and miss. All these guys have huge back catalogues. These are all real instrument tracks with proper endings with no fades.

Members Bassin' 'Round
How are iTunes backing tracks? They sound pretty nice to me. Do they have scrolling lyrics? What format are they, mp3s?
