Blackstar HT-5 Series HT-5H 5W Tube Guitar Amp Head

Sound Quality

I bought this amp, then about a month after sold it for $50 more than I paid because they were out of stock. lucky me!! It was a good return on my investment. Maybe that's what the government should do instead of a stimulus plan! Anyhow, A cool looking amp but it just didn't cut the mustard for me. The tone is not a "Marshall" tone. It has it's own thing going, just not going for me. I was looking for a small watter to replace a 100 watt Marshall for recording and this little guy just doesn't make it. I see Marshall now has a 15 watt head with 6v6's and 1x12 speakers. I might just have to use my extra cash and try that one out.

Reliability/Durability

General Comments

This amp just lacks any real character. No good vibe to it. It is just somehow lacking. The tone controls are just not right, they do not respond like normal tone controls. They act more like bass, low mid, and a teeny bit of treble. This amp lacks midrange and high end control. The tone controls just don't work around the meat of the guitar.
