Hughes & Kettner Tubeman 2

Fantastic smooth valve sounding output which doesn't crunch like a transistor equivalent. You can see the valve glowing through the window - but doesn't need to warm up like eg my valve amp, so I often wonder if the valve is there for show? Only criticism - slightly noisy piece of equipment hence 9/10 rather than 10/10. Very flexible control over the three switchable channels. Amazing if played through a valve amp with its gain fully up!

Had it for 4 years (it was second hand before that) and no problems.

Recommended over and above any equivalent non-valve unit.
