Has anyone used or have a pair of Vestax pdx 2000 turntables? I would like to know how old they are and IF their in good working condition? I have had to send one of my in already for a new motor and now I have very bad platter noise creeping into my system: When I have a turntable qued with a record I with the crossfader opened to drop in a record live I can hear platter noise and it seems to be getting louder. Also when I scratch you can hear the platter noise. I would suggest to anyone who is thinking to buying these turntables NOT TO. LIke I said I already had to send one back for a new motor which really was not a problem but the table would not play low bass frequencies. Very Very weird. And the customer service with Vestax out of L.A. was not helpful at all. IF you have better or worst experiance with Vestax please reply to this email. Thanks.

Yep I got two PDX-2000's, had them about 9 months. I had the motor noise problem. Just got a slippery plastic record sleeve and stuck it under the slipmat and now the noise problem is gone.

Regards the platter making noises, its probably your records.

When I first got them, I thought I had platter problems too, with em rocking and stuff. But then I noticed it was just the records not fitting tightly over the spindle. If the record doesn't fit tightly over the spindle it will move about and make it feel like the platter is loose. You can use stickers or whatever to tighten the hole. ffnarr. I've had no problems with em since.

Yeah, their customer support is {censored}.

Hey Dj Spamtin thanks for the tip I will try the plastic sleeve method and see IF I get that nasty noise to leave, I use a smalll square of a paper towel for my loose records that "wiggle" on the platter from the record hole becoming loose. Unfortunetly thats usally happens from scratching with my favorite scratch records. thanks agin lamarrr.
