Members Shadowdusk
I really wanna sing this song, but not sure it's working really well. Any tips, maybe change the key, or is this beyond my current vocal ability? [video=youtube;oFkSMHle8-M] Will give a pico link with my pitiful attempt in a second. There. http://picosong.com/fsU/ another edit just to facepalm at myself, this actually seems to be the worst recording - I usually play this on my toy piano, and now I looked up random chords on a site, and got confused while reading them which reflected on my vocals, naturally. Anyways, any thoughts?
Members rodclement
man, I love Mika and everything about him and his music, does whatever he wants and sells a boatload of albuns! I love how you brought the song down do your voice and made (almost) yours! Didn't care for you going to the high parts much, why not keep it down in your range? I can't wait for the new version with the piano! Rod
Members ido1957
You did the right thing by transposing this down to a comfortable key. Just a couple of pitchy parts (start and last line(s))I'm not sure you should be too worried about this - 95% of it is fine by me. Good tone and pitch for the most part. All I'm feeling is that you can practice this a bit more until you are super familiar with all the notes (in your key) and you will record a perfect version...Stay away from the original for a while - it's distracting you and you shouldn't try and compare yourself to Mika when you're making this "your own". God I think you're being far too optimistic but yeah, this was my first try in this key and with a guitar. As far as perfect goes I'm VERY careful with that word, I'd hardly call many music pieces perfect, let alone my interpretation

Members grace_slick
I can’t listen to this yet, but if you keep it in the original key wouldn’t it have to be sung in falsetto most of the time except for that one bit he uses a slightly deeper voice in?? Members Shadowdusk
Okay I realized what was wrong, I knew it felt a bit odd yesterday.. runny nose, sore throat, slightly ill. Not the least bit cool. Will give it a better attempt once I get better. Btw Duke, it's a girl singing the chorus, and a guy singing the verses.
