Can anyone recommend a good artists pc tablet to do drawings and graphics with?

What kind of features should i look for, is there a minimum spec needed to do fairly fine drawings or are they all standard today? Prices have fallen but are they any good? are they usb?

Hi,

The industry standard is the Wacom Intuos series. For highend, there is the Wacom Cintiq.

Info here:

http://www.wacom.com/

As far as features, the most important thing to look for is pressure sensitivity. The Wacom Intuos, and Cintiq, offer 1024 levels of pressure.

Personally, I have two Wacom Intuos 2 12x19" tablets, and my business partner has a third. Top notch stuff. For an example of work done with an Intuos 2, look here:

The current line of Intuos tablets is the series 3, which offers a couple of new features.

Hey Array - did you draw that on your tablet? Looks pretty amazing. Almost makes me want to get one too ... even though I know I suck at drawing (I'm still stuck at the phase where my sun has a smiling face ;)).

Thats what i thought.

Purchased a drawing and graphics tablet today, takes a little while getting used too, the possibilities are almost endless, especially for blending colours and fine lines, much better than just using a mouse or pad.
