Members wooden
Has anybody bought a Yamaha p140 or a korg sp250. I had a 01/Wfd and since then I have heated every piano sound from korg but the sp250 received a really good review on keyboard mag. What is the main difference between the p140, p90 and p 70=
Members chrisellington
Well I have a p140 I was not too crazy for the Korg SP250 I tried at Sam Ash when I was looking to purchase a digi piano the yamaha boards just feel nicer and authentic to me... I think the piano samples are much better than the korg... I tried the p80 a long time ago...the p90 recently...the p140 (which I have)... I picked the 140 because I wanted onboard speakers for the convenience and so I would not have to worry about whether the amp I use is not giving me the full capabilities of the sound the piano produces...but that is more of an issue up to you some would recommend the Yamaha P series or the General Music prP series I just love the feel and look of Yamaha's P's though

Members Jez
P140 all the way Korg stage pianos have been poor since pretty much forever, there's no reason that they're suddenly going to be struck by lightning and realise the error of their ways. Members ruudman
Another vote for the P140. When I checked the market a few months back, I thought it was way better than its competitors regarding keys/feel/sound. I'm glad I bought it. regardsruudman

Members orangefunk
I played a GEM PRP700 recently and it was every bit as good as the Promega 3 I have, except for the following... - below average keyboard feel...- noisy EQ (it can be turned off though)- awkward to pick up as there is an edge underneath which runs the whole length of the board..- model I had kept turning itself off and crashing. I rate the GEM piano several times above Yamahas. I heard the P140 and while it looked and felt very nice (probably the best piano feel there is IMHO) it wasn't any improvement on their older P range. I think GEM do have some reliability problems though... my Promega 3 is still in for repair.
Members Dejavoodoo
I used to own a Korg SP 200, and I can't imagine the SP 250 would be much different. I wanted a slimline 88 key piano that had a few other useful patches as well. The 200 was just as heavy as my Triton Pro-X, so no breaks there. The piano sound was okay, but I was spoiled with the Bosendorfer upgrade. The organs sucked - no mod wheel for a cheesy Leslie effect. And the keyboard felt stiff to me - not like a real piano, just not user friendly. I wound up selling it for more than I bought it for. (It was a floor model - got it for $600, sold it for $750). Now I just play electric piano patches when I gig - no one's ever complained that they didn't hear a real piano sound on a song. Hope this info helps you out. Can't help you with the Yamaha P140, however. Regards, RWO
Members sporter
I don't like any of the Korg pianos. They are inferior to most anything I"ve heard laltely, including the Casio Previa. The p140 is sweet sounding, fun playing piano..action's a little light for my taste, but not bad at all. Really comes to life through PA or good amp. RCA jacks only (not a show stopper but a bummer imo), and not much as a midi controller. But over all great instrument.
