Fusion prices...

Do you think they'll stay low for awhile? I've only really been into synths the last year, so I don't know how up and down prices can be, especially with new models.

Is there a method to this, or do they just randomly go up and down based on market? It's stayed low for a decent amount of time, and I want to know if I should buy now and finance it or if I can wait until the fall when I have more $.

Thoughts? and thanks.

They wouldn't go up again. I've never heard of anything like that. There's no special sale going on, they just lowered the price, period.

Keyboard prices (for new gear) are not like the stock market. There is no up/down, just the initial price and then it gradually falls until it is no longer manufactured any more. Then you have to buy it used and then you see a lot more fluctuation going on. Even crazy stuff like people saying good or bad things about something on this forum, and the next several ebay auctions for that item are WAY up/down.

Sometimes synths go up in cost when they are still in production.

Example 1:

I bought a G2 rack for $849 new on pre-release. This was the going price back then. The rack went up to well over $1k for a while and then back down to it's current price.

Example 2:

I bought a PER for $1245 on pre-release. That was the normal going price at that time. Now the normal price is in the 1300+ range.

Example 3:

Musicians Friend made a pricing mistake on their website and listed the MS2000 for $399 instead of $499. I was able to get a local store to give me $100 back on my purchase I made three days before.

Synth prices do sometimes go up but usually there are circumstances around it.

I wouldn't expect the price on the fusion to go up again.
