Members gobojacobs
Just moved from Middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin to Savannah, GA for work, and am having problems getting my bearings for music stores and the scenes down here. Been a while since I've hit KSS, but figured it was probably a better bet than the yellow pages. Been to a few shows, but it seems there's far more of a metal ("RAWK") scene down near Savannah than anything (though littered with a lot of old time jazz and dixie). I thought I remembered Analog Kid and a few others being from around here... anyone out there? If anyone can give me a heads up for some decent venues and shops in driving distance, or wants to meet up for a beer sometime, let me know. -gobo

Members Analog Kid
DJ Shrapnel who runs Industrial Ressurection is a good freind of mine too, who is much more proffesional than I'll ever be (and named DJ of the year in the last Connect poll!)He actually puts up playlists of his sets. This event happens Thursday nights (hey, that's tonight) at Club One, the TURBO gay bar at Jefferson and Bay. We don't mind sharing the club with the she males and other freaks. Savannah is a good town for tolerance... at least with some communities. http://goth-night-savannah.com/playlists.html

Members gobojacobs
AK... Y'know, I saw that flyer a week ago and didn't even make the connection when I read that. Doh. Latex and wigs? Count me in. {censored}, y'know, you're going to convert me from the hippie singer-songwriter I've become back to the live pa gear slut I once was. I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship. Hehe.
Members The Pro
Portman's Music is getting better as a unique non-chain music store. Looked great when I was last there a couple of weeks ago. Savannah overall is out of the mainstream so few major music acts come here, but it's a funky and cool town with lots of life and interesting things to do, as AK has demonstrated. One of my fav hangouts is the Moon River Pub on Bay Street where some ghosts were caught on film last year. There's often music to be had out at Tybee Island too. And there's an active and varied music scene just across the river and up the road in South Carolina in Hilton Head, where I live. Congrats, you've moved to a pretty cool area.
