Members philw
Heres my setup: Midi Controller = Evolution MK-461C Sound Module = Waldorf Micro Q Midi in/out = M-Audio Midisport 4x4 Software = Cubase Sx3 I've checked over everything many times to check it's working and i have my controller powered by USB with the Midi in of the waldorf connected to midi out of Msport and Midi out of controller connected to Midi-In of Msport In cubase everything is set up right. Anwyay the problems: My Midi IN LED on the mSport is constantly flashing. Im not sure if this is normal is it? Even when there is no Midi data being passed through or any controllers being touched. Everything appears to be working correctly in that if i hit a key on the controller the module, msport and cubase sx are all picking up midi data sent. However i don't hear anything out of my speakers unless i plug my headphones directly into the sound module and then i can hear what i play, but thats no use if i want to use it in my sequences. So basically! It's kinda like my module is sending out the midi data but not the sound through my PC speakers! Anyone know whats up?
Members tim gueguen
MIDI doesn't transmit audio. You'll have to plug the module into an amp to hear it.
Members philw
Ahh i see. So it doesn't work like how a VSTi would then? I'm confused as to how i would use my sound module effectively within cubase then. Seeing as i cannot get the sounds in my module to play back within' my mix and i can't use plug-ins except the default midi ones rather than the audio ones like waves bundles etc. What do i need to do to solve these problems? Apologies for being such a novice at this, im rubbish at setting things up
Members isosceles
sounds like you need to run an audio cable from your micro Q to your soundcard/audio interface on your computer then you can trigger the Q's sounds by midi, and record it as audio in cubase
Members philw
Ah i see! I only have a Creative Audigy and it doesn't have the interface to plug in. Sound card recommendations?
Members isosceles
you can use a 1/4'' to 3.5mm adapter so it will fit in your soundcard emu and m-audio both make soundcards that are pretty cheap and usable
