Members Avram
Hello again. I'm looking for an addition to my humble setup (Casio VL-TONE, casio CTK-691, Korg Triton Le). Now, I thought about several of posibilities.- Getting another humble very very inexpensive SYNTH. (As I said before, I can get something like Yamaha DX7 or Korg DW-8000, or Roland JV-35... which one is the best,by the way?)Anyway, I don' tlike this possibility very much, because of the fact that I really don't need two keyboards (I actually already have two, and I really don't play them together, And I won't in gigs..). So I think geting a another synth is not an accetable posibility for me. - Getting a Rack Module. Now, I really don't want another "Rompler" (So I don't need things like Motif's racks, or fantom xr... Costy, and uneeded for me..).I thought of Yamaha TG-500, and I would be glad if youll recommand other inexpensive racks.... It's quite important that I won't have to use PC for it... (So I don't want something like the TR-RACK, which I was told impossible to edit soundsuse progressive options without a PC...).Getting a very inexpensive Rack Is I think the best solution. So I need a recommandation for one. (Again, somthing really cheap... The XV-5050 which youll probably recommand is too expensive for example.. I'm looking for a MAXIMUM of hmm... 250$ - Getting some sort of multi-effects (pedals)... Maybe Bermhinger's (I probebly miss spelled it_ stuff.... I don't understand much about those effects, so I would be gald to get an explanation a recommandation for one of these. Again, maximum amount of money for every thing I wrote in here, is ... I guess 300$.

Members BillyWa
I will sell you a Matrix 6R for $300! (pickup only)
Members ChipCurtis
Yeah I'd recommend going analog too, if you're gonna get a rack synth. Matrix 6R or 1000, MKS-70, MKS-50, EX-8000.... these can be had pretty cheap and sound great.
Members Avram
I'm just curious... what does the DW-8000, for example, as an analog synth, has that my Triton Le doesn't? (And I'm not talking about keys action, which was, by the way an issue also in the DW... or built quality).I mean, after Hearing some demo songs of the DW, which the seller sent me, I really figured that I can make (and even made already), some very similar programs of the DW-8K, in my triton le.... Editing: I thought of maybe, like a guy named Joe Paradiso did, Upgrading my casio vl-tone... (Although it'll probably be costy to get the gear like this guy got.... or any other stuff... I like my VL-TONE sound, and maybe I should somehow trim it... (add another keyboard, 'cause as you know the VL-TONE's keyboard is not very good), and maybe adding one of these... hmm.. I really even don't know how to call them....Check this out;http://www.synthmuseum.com/casio/casvltone02.html You think it's possible to make something with my VL-TONE (Not something like in the link I gave of course...much more simple). The DW8000 / EX8000 is technically a hybrid synth (the oscillators are digital like in your LE) but it has something your LE doesn't have: a real analog filter. The rest of the signal path is analog too, so it can sound warmer than equivalent sounds on the Triton. It doesn't have anywhere near the sound creation facilities found on a modern workstation like your LE (i.e. tons of samples, more complex modulations, etc.), but for more simple 'analog' type sounds, it will have more warmth and 'presence', if that makes any sense. Filter sweeps will sound less 'digital' as well: even though Tritons have a pretty good digital filter, it's never quite the same as a real VCF. Congratulations; in that case you just figured out why someone does not buy a new synthesizer . If you are looking for something truly different than the DX7 would be the candidate for the job. Some stuff can be done (you probably have one of those polished bright e-pianos on your Le, too) but once you go outside that realm, your Le will have trouble keeping up . I had the severe misfortune of hearing some Behringer effect pedals at the store the other day. They are horrible and noisy. I certainly wouldn't go there. Better to do without. Members Avram
Ok. Anyway, I think ill work a little while (a year), to get a Roland JV-2080.
Guest Anonymous
XV-5050 is better than JV-1010, JV-1080, JV-2080, XV-2020 and XV-5080 because it has all of there presets plus another 128. TG500 is kool. QSR is nice.
Members Dejavoodoo
Of course, you could just buy an upgrade card for the LE. Way cheaper ... RWO

It all depends on how manyu expansions you got. I got a JV2080 with 9 expansions and it rocks. Had a JV1080 which had no expansion and I almost never used it. Members Avram
By the way, why on earth did you get a Triton Le + Triton Prox? And would guys say it's better to get the xv-5050 in addition to my LE, instead of only relplacing it for an extreme? (It'll sure be cheaper to just get the rack as an addition..). Members Avram
Ok, I decided. I'm not gonna replace my LE for an extreme, and not gonna get an xv-5050. I'm gonna save a bit and get a used Yamaha AN1X.. Or the Korg DW-8000. (I guess the AN1X will be my choice, even though it is more expensive).
