Members ferranster
Hi, I'm trying to figure out which keyboard to buy. Since now I've been using a roland RS-9 but I think it's time to change to something a bit more serious. I'm mainly looking for a keyboard to have at home with really good pianos and a real piano feel, hammered keys and so.I usually use the keyboard to perform, but I also need a keyboard I can plug on my computer to use along with cubase or other software. I've been thinking of Roland RD-700sx but I don't know if it's too much. His little brother RD-300sx seems ok, but for what I've seen I guess the keyboard feeling and piano are not as good as the ones on rd-700, besides some other notable differences. So sice there's soooo many keyboards to choose from any suggestion is welcome. Thanks in advance!
Members Prodigul
yamaha s90 has best keyboard feeling of the ones ive demoed. I really didnt like the rdx700, but maybe thats just my personal preferences. What sounds do you want on board, or are you only going to use it as a controller for software? The s90 has synth capabilities and a wide range of sounds, but if you only using it for controlling software than look into a midi controller - they much cheaper
Members ferranster
I'll be using it mainly to perform, the midi controller thing is just because I like to do midi stuff once in a while. I used to have a band and I had a piano there, but now I moved out of the country and now I don't even have my RS-9 here.So that's why I'm looking for something like a "real"piano + something like the RS-9. But the sounds I'm looking for are mainly pianos, e. pianos, rhodes and organs. Thnx for the suggestion thou!
Members Prodigul
yea, go for an s90 if you care alot about the feel, to me its the best feeling outside of an acoustic. If you care a little less about feel but want more features than go for the Alesis Fusion 8hd, its an amazing board (I use a 6hd, the 61key version). The keybed isnt as good as the s90 but to me it was as good as the Roland rdx700, and its alot cheaper than that and has more features.
Members -groovatious-
Does the keyboard need to have other sounds apart from piano to use live? or are you happy to use software for these sounds?
Members ferranster
I'd like to have some more sounds on the keyboard as electric pianos and organs mainly. But I could use software for other stuff. Thanks guys
