Isn't that ensemble for version 3? No longer in the library.

BTW...one can "play" the knobbage. X-Station suits the bill.

Nope, it's part of Electronic Instruments volume 2. There's a free non-programmable version you can get from the site if you're a registered NI user, but the real enchilada's the one in EIv2. It never was in the library.

Everything besides the "guitar" (which is Akkord, another EIv2 instrument) in this is MF...

A couple years ago, right before the holidays, I got an email from NI with a link to a softsynth. I'm pretty sure it was called "Metaphysical Function".

Is that the one you guys are talking about?

It was good for soundscapes, but a bit vague in its terms and programming methods - really not one of my favorites.

nope.

apparently, if it's the one carbon just showed above, what i got was just some kind of teaser for the demo/program - i've never seen that one before.

i didn't like the lack of control over it and deleted it quickly.

carbon's pic looks quite a bit more interesting, but i wouldn't go too far out of my way for it.

Yeah, yours was a teaser. It only functioned as a standalone, and you had no real control over what was happening. The one that carbon posted is the EIv2 version; that's a completely different ball game.

As for not wanting the others in the package, pighood- there's some really good toys in there. Photone is still one of the best Reaktor synths in existence; Akkord's a unique twist on the FM side of life (and using the chord sequencer with other Reaktor synths or other plugins in general rocks :) ), KRYPT's an excellent drum machine and Resochord's an effect that can add a touch of weird to anything you run through it. Well worth the paltry price of admission.

Piggie, He's right you know :)

Photone alone is pretty much worth the price of admission...

Photone has a lot of the same ideas as Carbon; it's just a lot better implemented.

Carbon 2 from the Reaktor 5 library comes even closer, but neither Carbons have quite the sound that Photone does.

Photone was designed/created by Mike Daliot who also did Carbon, Carbon2 and Metaphysical Function. Photone is very flexible and has some nice filters...as well as killer oscillators, especially the fourth one ;)

Mike was one of the co-creators of Massive but it wasn't a solo project like the aforementioned synths.

My first NI product was Electronic Instruments 2 XT which runs as standalone synths or Reaktor ensembles...I didn't get Reaktor until recently...Its amazing how deep its configurability is!
