OT: Smartphones

Just ordered a Treo 680 to merge the utility of my Tungsten T3 & Razr. I'll be sacrificing the generous screen size, but the 680's screen is MUCH brighter. I'll give the internet package a whirl....but supposedly it's no faster than (gulp) dial-up.

Anyone here got a Treo or similar device?

Thankfully not me. I would imagine the cost to run the features of a device like that would cause the service invoice to combust in its envelope. The internet is quite fine on my home computer - and it should be for you, too, big boy.

I imagine so. I might tire of the slowness and bag the service....but the geek in me justs wants to give the geekdom a whirl already.

We have a couple of phones that can do handy-dandy stuff. I hadn't had a cell phone in almost a decade prior to these. I COULD NOT believe how every little thing was subject to a fee/rate/charge - and to think of all the people using these nifty features. We promptly put a block on all extraneous features after I accidentally started to browse the internet and load up a game.

Meh, the web-surfing is over-hyped I think, unless your work demands you have access 24/7 - although I wouldn't expect to do any serious work that way. It IS slow - I don't think that technology has improved all too much over the past 10 months, yes? BUT, I do think it's tres cool to integrate a PDA with the phone - the right way. I guess this does that well.

I've been waiting for the 680....supposedly it fixes a lot of the poo wot were flung at the 650.
