Members willi
Oooh, have you guys seen this? Looks quite tasty for a Virtual Drummer, supposedly it beats any sampler out there by Digi's claims. Are there any other similar programs out there like this but perhaps in a more universal format (e.g. VST, AU)? Looks cool! http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=111&langid=100&itemid=4952

Gus Lozada
It does not beat "a sampler" since at least NI Battery has way more layers per sound. What makes STRIKE the piece of art it is is the level of control you can get over every single instrument. Say, you have basic drum loops in several styles. Then you have several "intros" for every style... then have variations... then "chorus" variations... and then some endings. That is like a drum machine. And export a full performance to tracks of Pro Tools for perfect integration. Also, you can edit all the loops and create your own. And of course, you can use it only as a source for drum sounds -which is the less exciting way to use it- EZDrummer and Battery are perhaps better choices for just drum libraries. What really blows my mind of that software, is the fact you can edit every single instrument
Members Neural Disorder
+1 for EZ Drummer. I use it with my E-drums as a sound module. It has a pretty good feel to it. It rotates the samples so when you are doing somthing like a snare rush, you don't hear the same sample over and over. It reduces the "machine gun effect" you get with older drum brains (like mine). That DigiDesign plugin looks pretty cool too, but I don't use ProTools so I'd out of luck.
Members Mook
I've been using the demo of Addictive Drums. Very impressed.
Members StompBoxLover
EZ Drummer is awesome. I made the switch from Groove Agent. the drag&drop feature of the MIDI Files makes it almost too easy to come up with a believable drums for a whole song. the Velocity knob rules! the microphone bleed was exactly what I was missing from GA. Members Binkeys
+1 on the Addictive Drums demo. I downloaded it and it's way cool. I'm thinking about buying it.
