Members Daft Punk
Any suggestions? I currently have NO synths, but any dirt cheap vintage ones i should consider looking at for sounds like human after all/da funk etc?

Members MuzikB
An excerpt from a 2001 Remix mag article...... lthough Bangalter and de Homem-Christo claim they were physically altered by some obscure millennial bug, their music has benefited from the injection of a human element that's even rarer in these days of sequencers, samplers, and simulated synths. Initially, the duo called upon house music heroes Todd Edwards and Romanthony
Members Daft Punk
Nevermind, found it. IT's a bit pricey, 300 for a somewhat functioning one. Anything else is should look at?

Members Yoozer
Whats a 909? A piece of advice; for anything you don't know anything about, search. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/909 - and another hint: if it's about something you didn't expect, click the link and end up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TR-909 And yes, go with Propellerheads Reason or FL Studio and a bunch of plugins first before spending your money on rare and expensive hardware. No use in buying a 909 if you don't how it works; and Reason's ReDrum shows you how. Or get Propellerheads Rebirth - it's free now - and get the 808, 909 and 2 303's. Learn the ropes on those. It's not the gear that makes the Daft Punk sound - it's the inventiveness behind it.
Members Mook
any dirt cheap vintage ones i should consider looking at for sounds like human after all/da funk etc? No such thing. Any dirt cheap vintage synth will be cheap either because no-one else wants it (i.e. it is not very good) or because it is in poor condition. You can go down the software route as others have considered, or get something like a Roland SH-201 - the filters aren't too bad and can accept an external source too.
