Members sbrett
First I apologize if this is in the wrong forum--it could fit here, in the recording forum, or maybe the live sound. Here's my question: I play in a cover band that consists of 2 guitars, drums, bass, and vocals. We'd like to be able to cover some piano, fiddle, and other stuff by sequencing. What exactly do I need to sequence these parts? We have the hardware to play sequences live, so here is what I was thinking of getting: cubase 4 (any other recommendations welcome)some MIDI controller keyboard such as an m-audio or other in the $200 range Is there really anything else I need to just lay down the sequences for backing tracks? From what I can tell Cubase comes with virtual instruments, so I should just be able to plug the keys into my computer, select a piano/fiddle/steel patch in cubase and start recording right? Members kayehl
I use voyetra midi record producer for sequencing. It has great editing functions and it was easy to learn, for me anyway. When you add sequences to a live band you will have to solve the problem of keeping the tracks in synch with the live players. Might have to add a click track from the sequencer into the monitor mix.
