Ableton's Live 6

Korg Legacy Collection

NI's Kontakt 2

Bias Peak 4

I've got more but that is my essential software.

This is off topic, but was it you that told me they were from Edmonton? I finally finished school in NFLD and made my way to Cow-town here, and I can't thank you enough for the recommendations and help (if you remember). I am finally settled away with the new job. I am just waiting for that Mac conference until I take the plunge on either a MacBook Pro, or just the newly upgraded MacBook (I just put up a thread there if you're interested). Is there that much of a difference production-wise if I got a MacBook 2.16 Duo Core with 2 gigs of Ram compared with a Pro of the same processing/Ram specs? How would the Pro benefit myself? I am holding out until the June conference because of that Santa Rosa platform.

I scored a MOTU 828MkII off ebay for a sweet deal as my interface/preamps/mixer and now I am slowly getting around to picking off the rest of my needs or should I say "wants." I can't wait to fully settle away and get back to writing.

Thanks,

Phil

No, I'm afraid that wasn't me but I managed to help out a great many people here. IMHO, anybody planning to use a laptop for music shouldn't settle for anything less than a 15" display screen. Running a DAW and softsynths takes up a bit of screen real estate and a 12" display just doesn't cut it. The processor power is more than enough in both as I 'm still getting a lot of use out of my 1Ghz G4 powerbook, but it's still a 15 incher. ;)

After picking up my MV-8800, I've been slowly getting back on the horse. I much prefer a Roland hardware sequencer to the computer. A DJ buddy of mine was just here and he's calling my new projects "Porn House." House on a Barry White tip. I'm just happy to be particularly satisfied with most of my gear and making some life changes to clear my head. Life's just too short for overwhelming amounts of nonsense. So be sure to check my artist page from time to time as I wrap up these songs, get into my gear, and get away from people that just don't understand.

I will be getting my Voyager back...........for Christmas. :D

I have Komplete 4, but I sooo don't have time enough for all the possibilities it offers. Anybody wanna trade? I need something relatively self-contained and quick that makes happy-time with my G2X. Anobody got a Fusion 8HD or RS7000 they don't need?

Sonar

Cubase VST/32

BIAB

Sound Forge 9

Reason 3

Virsyn "BBE Sonic Maximizer" VST plugin

Master Tracks Pro

Sonar is my main go-to sequencing program. I only use CuBase for programming my Virus TI synth. I use BIAB like a house builder uses 2x4's - for rough framing of songs that get polished in Sonar and for creating lead sheets. Sound Forge 9 is my primary audio recording and mastering program and I love it. Reason 3 is an alternative song construction application and I love it too. The Virsyn Sonic Maximizer is something I use sparingly but it adds a little something to the final mix when I use it in SF9. I wish I could dump Master Track Pro altogether because GVOX ruined it but it still has a few handy features I use.
