Members Micahb
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm looking for a program I can make drum beats with(for metal) like LeafDrums but better quility. I do not want to buy a midi controller(keys of fingure pad) but would like to be able to simply select them with my mouse as I can with leafdrums. I've read about Drumkit from hell, Natural Studios, tons and tons of others but all high quility programs seem to me midi based or require you to have Sonar or pro tools. I do own Cakewalk Music Creater 3 and have had great results. With Leafdrums, once I have created all the beats, arranged them in the groove matrix...I can them burn it to a wav and import this into cakewalk. From there I add guitars, etc. Please Help!! Too many products, not enough money..all I need is a program I can create relistic drums sounds with!
Members stikygum
A good sample cd would be where to start. The DFH cd looks pretty good. For programs, maybe recycle would work or maybe a full blown sequencer. You definitely want software or is hardware an option?
Members MaxCapacitor
Although I've never used it, there's Hydrogen entirely for free for GNU/Linux (included in the UbuntuStudio variant of the linux OS, which is also free). The software description on the website states you can import/export drum kits if the default library doesn't have the sound you're looking for. Members Micahb
I would prefer a software based program but I did some studying...I bought a E-MU sound card a few months back with a midi connection. With it came Sonar LE, WaveLab, and Cubase LE which I understand will connect with a midi device(?). So, if hardware was the focus, I would need the midi device and either a module or some drum plug-in. That's just such an expensive option considering I only want this for drums.... As long as you have a VST host (there are some free ones, and you can use your CubaseLE) you can try NUSofting's DK+http://nusofting.liqihsynth.com/dk+.html which has some nice kits in it and a step sequencer, but more importantly, has maps available for most of the popular free download drumkits on the net, mapping done by users and available herehttp://thedkplus.dashsignature.com/
