Members Prog
What's the meeting about?
Members idiotboy
Yeah, I'm not sure they actually call it a "meeting." Essentially, people assemble in a large room, bring in their synths and related gear, then play eat pizza and discuss. I attended last year's meeting. Good folks like Carbon111, theProteus, Matrix and other forumites attended. The highlight was John Bowen discussing his work with Dave Smith on the Prophet, and comparing an original rev2 with the Creamware clone. I forget the name of the guy who organizes it, but someone here will know.

Members TheProteus
Sadly, I probably won't be attending this year. I'm relocating back to Salt Lake (Zion Curtain Second Invasion!) and will probably be gone by then. But, I'll see how things stack... there's like a 15% chance I can make it. Also, in an effort to educate these Wasatch luddites I'm starting up the Zion Curtain Synthesis Group - basically an AH, KSS, and SDIY meet all in one. Hopefully that will bring out all the knob tweakers hiding in the woodwork!

Members ckett
idiotboy, How did the ASB Creamware Pro-12 compare to the real Prophet 5? What did Bowen have to say about its sound? Thanks
Members Umbra
What's the meeting about? It does sound interesting but seriously, I wouldn't tell anyone who isn't into synths that your doing this for rather obvious reasons. And for sure do not tell them it's a room full of guys playing with each others knobs.... hehehehe.... sorry, couldn't help it.
Members idiotboy
Yeah, the stench of geek coming off this event keeps most normal people at bay. ckett: I thought the Pro-12 can got close in some scenarios, but they're clearly different. Bowen was somewhat complimentary, (he was also involved with creating the Pro-12), while acknowledging the differences.
