Members pawjer
Hi, I think now it's the time I should buy the stage piano to have more piano-like experience while playing. I play my music on Roland JV-35 synth but I need also to have more serious instrument for the different type of playing. I could choose between new Yamaha P-70 and second hand P-150 which is actually in really nice condition, and it's cheaper than new P-70. I know the guarantee for new equipment is a great pro argument but P-150 seems to be more professional for me and some its features like L/R Output and Input (not present in P-70!), I think, would become very important to me. Do you think that second hand P-150 in really good shape is a reasonable alternative for new P-70. I will be grateful for your answers. Members 7DeadlySynths
The P70 is fine if you're just gonna use it at home, but the lack of any 1/4" outputs makes it less than ideal for giggin.
Members Dejavoodoo
As my worthy Irish colleague suggests, you do want 1/4 inch outs on the board. May I suggest: http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-MII-PRO88STAGESX.htmlhttp://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-KUR-SP76.htmlhttp://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-NOR-NE61-PAK.html (Piano not fantastic on this one, but organ and EPs are killer.) I like these people because you can do no-interest payments.
Members pink floyd cramer
I love my P120 except for the too-heavy, sluggish action. It really pisses me off that Yamaha has steered the P-line to home use with the RCA outs. I wonder if it is feasable to replace the P120 keys with a P140 key assembly, which is also sturdier (I break a couple keys a year).?
Members rhat
I played them all ,, and settled on the roland 300 sx. Its not the flag ship of the brand ,, but is light, has an action that fits my style of playing, and has the voices that i tend to use. I dont need 2700 voice patches when I really am just interested in a few. Its best feature ,, its light. Like sub 35 pounds. As an old school type band guy ,,,, geesh where were all these great keyboards when i was lugging around hundreds of pounds of gear to play a gig.... rat

Members 7DeadlySynths
It think it's safe to assume that if he's looking at a P70 that a Nord Stage may be out of budget!
Members akliner
I would go with the Yamaha CP33. It's a STAGE piano...not a home-use digital piano. Plus the CP sample (the same as the 300) is one of my favorite piano samples on the market. It's a little brighter than the S90ES.
Members triton76
I am in the market too; and I really want to try a Kawai MP5. But I can't find anyone who stocks them. Anyone tried them? CP33 is my first choice otherwise.
Members march56
Get a Fatar or m audio 88 key controller or even a Novation with the feel you want and pair it with either a Korg P3, Kurtzweil micro or general music realpiano module.-MC. Members triton76
I went with the Casio PX-200. Easily the best in the sub $1000 group. Of course it's my first 88 key instrument so YMMV. I really loved the CP33 but I paid for the Casio with the funds from selling my Roland XV3080 so it was like a straight trade. WHen Wifey's happy everyone's happy.
