'MIDI buffer Full' message in Roland XP-60

Hi,

I had my Roland XP-60 connected to my PC's soundcard through MIDI cable and was working fine. But suddenly it has stopped working and no MIDI messages are sent or received. When I turn on the PC "MIDI buffer full" message is displayed briefly on my synth and I suspect that is the core of the problem. I have tried reseting the XP-60 to factory settings but the problem is same.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance

Yes, unplugged and replugged it.

Also, I tried with onboard soundcard's game port but no go. Only difference is that the message is not popping up now.

I suspect problem with the cable but I need to be sure since I will have to purchase it and its a bit expensive over here (a small town in India).

Could there be any problem with my XP?

Hi,

Installed MIDIOX but shows no MIDI activity.

Also, I changed the MIDI cable today (purchased a brand new one) but there seems to be no MIDI data transfer.

Also, installed Windows XP freshly on a new harddisk, just to make sure but no go.

I now strongly suspect problem from my synth side.....
