Members BruceNC
All, I just found my cousin's Roland A30 Keyboard controller and Roland MT32 Multi-Timbre Sound Module, both of which were used about 2 times and then packed away, so in perfect shape! But no manual, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to connect the keys and module together to just get some sound through headphones. Can anyone help me connect the Midi cables and push the right buttons? Thanks! BruceNorth Carolina
Members mrcpro
Man, I hate to say this, but I can't think of two worse pieces of gear to figure out, with or without manuals. Each one on it's own is horribly frustrating, and together... I can't believe someone put them together. Maybe there's someone in the forum who can help. Otherwise, I'd suggest putting them back where you found them before you lose your mind. edit; I suppose you at least might do a simple hookup, just in case the MIDI channels miraculously line up. Plug the MIDI cable from the out on the 30 to the in on the 32 and see what happens.
Members Prog
I can't think of a simpler setup. rolandus.com has the manuals for free.
Members BruceNC
All, mrcpro -- yeah, that's what others are telling me. Too bad because it is in absolutely perfect condition. Prog -- Not true. You might be thinking of the PCR A30 which is a much newer keyboard. No English A-30 manuals available on the Internet, though I did find one in Dutch, if I remember correctly... There is the A-30 Quick Start in English -- a single page which is pretty much useless if you're a novice. But it would be great to be proven wrong about the existence of a real A30 user's manual in English on the web. Thanks!
