Members orangefunk
Yeah it was on in the mornings during school holidays circa 1978-81. I loved it, just fantastically drawn characters and brilliantly told stories... also from wikipedia It was broadcast in Canada in both English and French versions. In 2005, the viewing of the program in an Inuit classroom in northern Quebec led to a controversy with the local school board, who, amid community opposition, initially banned the teaching of evolution in schools as a result
Members Yoozer
There's also another series which is the one I've seen most of the time - Once Upon a Time... Life. I wonder why we never got this at elementary school, it certainly was better than the regular instruction videos.
Members Paolo Di Nicolantonio
Yes, I do remember this cartoon... But who here remembers the most psychedelic cartoon of them all? I LOVED the show and most of all, the MUSIC of this when I was a child - and wouldn't you guess, Solina strings through phaser and other synths... I had it me since I was a child Wattoo Wattoo aRBfp40wW-Y

Members Purity_Control
I do kinda recall that one.. what the heck was that creature? f*ck knows. i remember seeing that in the listings, but somehow, don;t remember ever watching it... though there's a few years of my childhood i still can;t remember much about. i wonder if they called it after the synth sounds? wattoo wattoo sounds like how a filter sweep might go? i think the weirdest i remember was rhubarb and custard... filmed in wobblevision(!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpygleWHwGs&feature=related
Members LWG
I remeber Lidsville and the Kroft Superstars! Hello, Standard Saturday morning fare, as was Puffinstuff. Those shows were produced by Sid and Marty Kroft. There were many classics from back then, clips of which have popped up on You Tube. Groovie Ghoulies was another (circa mid seventies) http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ny9nI0nOT4A&feature=related Regards, Lawrence
Members orangefunk
Interesting, I remember the Groovy Ghoulies... I will say though that by 1970s most of these cartoons were kind of done to death... the quality control had completely evaporated... I mean... Scrappy Doo... Scrappy Poo more like... say no more... I guess its all Bach....?? That ending is so cool... It's a cut up version of the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach. After playing the famous opening theme from the Toccata, it jumps to the opening of the Fugue, then cuts again to the end.
Members Noirmusic
Isn't it Ironic that while talking about copyrights people start illegally distribute videos...how would those of you who posted youtube videos feel about a 10k dollar fine? Just a thought....
Members Yoozer
how would those of you who posted youtube videos feel about a 10k dollar fine? I don't think they'd feel anything because purely linking does not (yet) constitute violation of copyright; hosting it and uploading the material does.
