Yamaha CS60 vs. ??? 1V/Oct Analog Polysynth?

Hi

I've started to get gearlust for an analog polysynth (NOT using DCO's), and it seems like the Yamaha CS60 might be a good choice in terms of a functionally integrated user interface and good performance keybed (it's not poly, but at least it has aftertouch). I have a few questions and concerns, though.

Is the CS60's lack of attack velocity ultimately very limiting in terms of performance capabilities? I've have a small controller without aftertouch, but even it has velocity...

I had been planning to build a modular, though, using 1V/Oct modules. I also own a couple of fairly expensive Moogerfoogers, also 1V/Oct. The CS60 is attractive because it's all in one ready to go system, but as it is V/Hz it is not directly compatible. What, if any, alternatives exist for non-DCO polysynths using 1V/Oct standards?

Any other big concerns with this synth?

Thanks!

willi

Yamaha used the CS designator on analog monophonic, duophonic, and polyphonic synths, plus resurected it on the digital CS1X series. The CS-60 is an 8 voice analog polyhponic.

AFAIK, Korg and PaIA are the only other companies to use Hz/Volt CV. Korg used it on their real old gear.
