Members Allerian
?? Seems like he's using Live. A macro that made a new track and assigned it might save a bunch of fooling around on the computer. Maybe its just me, but if I had to stop and touch the computer so much while I was playing, it'd be all over. It really is a cool track. Something great about the dodgy timing too. From your title I expected a much more "prepared" piano, but this was very enjoyable to see the technique.

But what's cool, to me, is that this is more like a performance rather than a "take" for a recording.

Members rhat
It was a little like watching a guy play golf with a stratocaster. Different yes. But a bit of a waste of a grand piano. Having the harp exposed like that allows him to control different "preparations" on the strings in real time... I think it's a great use of a grand piano. Members akliner
whats also great about that technique is you can manicure your fingernails at the same time I think he actually pulls out a coin or a guitar pick when he strums the strings, though. Members orangefunk
Beautiful... this is why pianos will never die out... by the way.. I have a Chick Corea/ Herbie Hancock video from 1978 where they are doing all this playing around in the piano stuff... Has a very otherworldly feel about it... ethnic, indian, japanese... spacey... just needs some wah wah trumpet + echo over the top...
