HW Sampler (Realtime Stretch functions)

Hi,

I'm a Akai s2000 user, I use it with midi controllers for live performance;

I would like to know if there's any Hardware Sampler, capable of:

- Realtime Stretch (Keeping Pitch);

- Real time pitch shift (keeping lenght);

The good news is: yes, there are samplers that can do this. Roland Variphrase, Roland V-synth and for grooveboxes the Yamaha SU-700 and Electribes (although they employ it more as an effect, since stretching with a simple algorithm gives you a metallic-sounding effect)

The bad news is that realtime time stretching with such a relatively weak CPU sounds bad, and that even offline time stretching (the way the S2000 does it) sounds bad because there's been a lot of development and different sounds require different algorithms.

The V-Synth does this the best in hardware, I think.
