Members cloreen
Disclaimer: I'm new to the world of MIDI Controllers and what not, so please forgive me if this seems ignorant... I just got one of these from Musician's Friend and was not happy to see that it does not have any kind of headphone jack. I would think this should be standard on any digital keyboard. Does anyone know of a way (as cheap as possible) that I can use headphones w/ this to play silently? Thanks!
Members MTMIEC
I have that same keyboard (although I'm having trouble with it, as I'm new to this stuff as well) and its a midi controller; it doesn't produce sound, you need something to produce a tone, a sound module or some other midi thingy ma-jig
Members WDMcM
Return the SL-990XP and visit your friendly local music store and ask for help in deciding what to purchase to fill you needs ( and then purchase from that store). Seems to me a likely question to you from the MF telephone clerk should have been "what will you be controlling with the SL-990?" Which of course would have lead to a question from you "What does that mean?" Which would have led to you buying the proper piece of equipment in the first place. Members ElectricPuppy
It's only a MIDI controller, not a sound generator. You connect it to a sound generator, like a synth module, and the controller tells it what notes to sound. If you thought that that keyboard was going to make sound on its own, you are misinformed.
