Characterizing your synths

Another thread here about calling a Juno a "her" got me to thinking that I actually do kind of characterize my relationships with my synths:

Juno-106: The long-term relationship with a very familiar face. You know what you can expect from her, and even though she may have health issues, loyalty won't let you part. She's wears the sensible shoes.

Chroma Polaris: The stubborn nonconformist. Insists on doing things her WAY and refuses to sound like that goody-two-shoes Juno. Strings? Yeah, right. Unison mode? Pfff, you perv, what kind of synth do you think I am?

EX800: The socially-inept nerd. A little too eager to show you her square roots, if you know what I mean. Clings to the 80's as if they never left and has trouble fitting in.

Poly Evolver: The Dark Mistress. You cannot tame her. She will bring you a special kind of discomfort and you will like it. She will act all coy and submissive but then she'll turn on you and make you beg for mercy. She knows you like to watch her feedback, but she'll make you PAY, you worm!

Motf Rack: Somewhere between Mrs. Cleaver and a goverment employee lies the Motif Rack. Versatile, clever and dependable? Check! But you want to actually change something? Oh I'm very sorry, you'll have to fill out form 3370-Z in triplicate. Then you'll have to page up, page up, bank, page down, scroll, enter, page down, enter, enter, then press "Job", but not today, this position is closed until next Tuesday.

Virus TI: The Supermodel. Fashionable, well-groomed and fit, she likes raves a bit too much for your tastes, but she's willing and eager to learn new things. There's little to fault and you think this might be The One.

Anyone else have personalities attached to their gear? :D Anyone? Bueller?

So I'll throw in my two cents about how I view my Metal/Grindcore Keyboard rig....

CZ-3000:She's like your first real girlfriend, shes a cheap date, you can take her to taco bell and she will be happy, shes not gorgeous but theres something cute about her you can't put your finger on, just a little time and effort spent on her and she will make it all worth it...wink wink.

Korg X5d:Shes like a best female friend who you get trashed with and sometimes might even wake up next to. shes always there when you need her though you dont see a serious relationship coming out of the friendship. Shes Pretty in her own way none the less, but she has no problem hooking you up with other girls, and maybe even joining in.

Roland JV-1080:She is the obvious girl to keep around, someone you can introduce to your parents, shes got her life together, and in no way a burden, she can have fun but also knows how to take care of business...the kinda girl you view the same way as mullets, business up front part in the back.

Mia familia.

How do you get in there? I don't see any gap wide enough for someone to get in without crawling underneath a bunch of synths. :)

Me likey though.

Characterizing my synths? That's a tough one.

Motif XS6: Like the village handyman. Jack of all trades, master of none, well, the master controller in my setup.

MicroKORG: If the MK was a woman, she'd look like an 11 year old but, once you get "into" her, all kinds of magic happens.

Juno-106: Definitely a female synth, and not just because of the name. She looks good for her age, but is getting rather brittle on the inside. When she feels good though, she sure can sing!

JX-8P: The neglected, homely love child of a Jupiter and a Juno, he frequently gets picked last in gym class. But when given the opportunity, his talented heritage shines through, even if he sounds a bit melancholy.

I'll have to think about characterizations for my rackmount gear.

Hmmm

D-70 - Old Faithful. you always know what to expect, and she'll never let you down.

Micron - Always doing stuff that surprises you. A hard edge but a warm and smooth heart.

EX-8000 - Can be everything from the school bully to the teachers pet.

Matrix 6R - Usually the loudest one in the group, likes to talk over everyone to make sure she's getting her point across.

XD-5 - Like a friend you're always feeling sorry for and making excuses to your other friends over.

K3M - The underappreciated. Just when you want to cast her aside and get something new and shiny, she shows you what she's capable of and you feel sorry for her....again.
