Members moog man
I am looking to mix 2 stereo and 1 mono keyboards live. I also would like to keep it to one rack space. There seem to be quite a few options but few have balanced L and R outputs which I need. The only one I found was the Behringer Ultralink Pro: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-ULTRALINK-PRO-MX882?sku=182448&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=26019223 it has a nice price tag and is exactly what I'm looking for but I fear the Behringer label. Has anyone used this or can anyone recommend a similar mixer? used is fine too.
Members memphis
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LX308B/ and http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SM82 these are little bit pricier and are of higher reputation than the Behringer, although many use the Behringer with no problems. there are several threads on the board that bring up even more options than these, if you're brave enough to use the search function. Good luck!

Moog Man - I have a Samson PL1602 2U rack space mixer just sitting around doing nothing - I'd sell it to you for $125 (plus shipping). I paid over $200 for it. Although "Samson" isn't top-of-the-line gear it's definitely a few notches up from the B-Word... Click here to see the specs It's clean, in good shape and has plenty of stereo inputs & even 2 mic. inputs. I was going to use for a duo act that never got off the ground and it's just more than I need now - it's in great shape, though & I have all paperwork. I can email you pics as well. Members bruto
I've had a Behringer 1602 for about a year and a half and it's starting to give me problems - some channels cut out because of poor internal connections. I might get a Samson PL1602 or the bigger PL2404. Those Rane and Ashly units are nice - but wow, pricy. I wish Yamaha made a rack mixer.
Members eric
Check out some vintage pieces Roland M-120, M-12E and Yamaha MV802. I had the MV802 for years and it was rock solid.
Members moog man
Thanks for the suggestions memphis, but I have a hard time spending $500 on a mixer with 8 inputs when I have a large 14 input yamaha I picked up for $150. I just really want a rack mixer like the large format one I already have. The issue for me is portability. It seems stupid to bring a big mixer for 3 keyboards, and if it can just go right into my rack it saves extra carrying. One , I already checked out that mixer and it has no xlr outs. But thanks for looking. gigman I may consider your offer. My drawback is I only have one space left in my rack which has a power amp and compressor/limiter already in it which would mean upgrading my rack case which is a bit of a hassle. 16 inputs is a bit overkill and I think it would be comparable to behringer I previously mentioned. So for these reasons I am kinda edging away from it. But very kind of you to offer and I haven't said no yet. To my encouragement I checked out some reviews on the ultralink and all have been very good. Especially the HC reviews were pretty glowing about the sound quality which is what I fear the most. No point in having a nice setup if it gets ruined by noise in your mixer.

My Samson PL1602 may be similar in layout to the Behringer that you're looking at but Samson kicks the B-word's ass, in terms of quality... I also have a lightweight 4 space rack - I'd sell it as a package if it makes the deal... you could put the Samson PL1602 in 2 of the spaces and a power strip/conditioner in another and still have one space free. This is a good unit as well - I had one for a while - but the knobs are teeny-tiny. I traded it to WheresGrant3 for a Kurzweil MicroPiano, 'cause my Micro was getting flaky! You certainly drive a hard deal senor. Another rack? That would have 2 extra spaces and lead to more GAS like a motif xs rack... I will consider. Though I'm not keen on lugging another rack case. But it is tempting:cop:
Members rovito
+1 on the rolls. I have an RM65. Only six channels but it does have balanced outs. Decent unit.
