Members seifukusha
if you need it. Its dirty and sounds like a vocoder, maybe the second stanza is pitch shifted down, but does anyone know. I think its absolutely lovely..

Members The*Ataris
Those vocals are actually sampled from a Death From Above 1979 song off their first album called "dead womb" ...and thrown through a Kaoss Pad I'm pretty sure. It's a pretty cool album; lot's of fun sounds on it.
Members seifukusha
did he use the vocoder of his chip modded (atari 5200) micro korg? i listened to dead womb and i didnt hear the vocals in there...
Members robotsquid
did he use the vocoder of his chip modded (atari 5200) micro korg? That is a work of fiction unfortunately... Sounds to me like it's vocals that have been put in a sampler and played back stretched out. You can do that kind of thing in Live, but I doubt you could do it with autotune. Members jjdugan3
I'm not sure as it sounds like it could be any number of things,it doesn't sound like a vocoder to me,it it sounds like a vocal-pitch/synth thing.Hardware wise it could be something like a Korg X-911(MS series as well),see avatar. It also could be a Moogerfooger Freqbox, anything with pitch to CV. Members yermej
Here's a YouTube clip of some guy using the DFA 1979 version as a ringtone. Might be helpful in trying to figure out the sound.
Members sleepykeith
it just sounds like vocals sampled and chopped up with a mix of effects and pitch shifting.
Members scientist
sounds like synthesis to me...i know there is pitch-able vocal synth software out there somewhere.

Members ShakaCthulu
It's the intro to Death From Above 1979's Dead Womb, no denying it. You can even hear the first second or so of the song at the end of the CC track. It's been chopped and mapped a bit with loop points, but it's clearly from the DFA song. Cocaina es bad..... There's a speech synthesizer that's good for this type of thing in Fruity Loops ($100, yet somehow pirated like mad), a program that will no doubt be bringing us more trendy garbage like Crystal Castles. It's funny, Timbaland samples CC, CC samples DFA1979. It's true, Pop really is eating itself.
