Take any help I can get guys... thx.

Lately I'm going to make a very tough decision on what Keyboard to choose that has great piano sound. By far I've tried the CP33, S08, Roland 700GX/SX, Yamaha 90 Es and the CP300(Which I thought sounds very close to a yamaha YPG 625 in my opinion.)anyways... out of those by far I've liked the CP33 I thnk it sounded better that the cp300, and out of all those. However now i'm considering the 3,200$ Kurzweil PC3X which I've heard has also a great piano sound... now i'm not just focusing on piano (but mainly) but synth sounds as well, all in one package.

So hard! Any suggestions guys? THX much appreciate it!

yeah need.. based on order.. Pads.. Organs... Strings.. all the rest is my last priority(besides the piano of course). I've tried the CP300, it sounded like my yamaha ypg 625 for some reason(to me). I personally liked the CP33 better... but I think i'm going with the new Kurzweil PC3X. Thanks for your suggestions tho guys. I'm still undecided by the way.

And yeah Marmorek the S 90ES has beautiful piano sound... but not as good pads and strings. Very good piano though.

My Budget is 3,500 $ Down...

I've found the pads and strings to be decent, except for the built-in vibrato. Not the best, but adequate for my needs. I mainly play rock, so pianos, keyboards and organs were higher priority. They're all excellent.

Can't go wrong with Kurzweil. I've got Pc2x, Pc2r and K2000. Let us know what you think of the PC3, it's on my list...

Did you listen to the CP33 and CP300 throught the same headphones or monitor?

Good question, 'cause the Yam. CP300 is their flagship digital piano - I find it a little hard to believe the CP33 sounds better... and I find it almost impossible to believe the YPG625 sounds better :freak::confused::lol:

The YPG625 is a consumer piano - I've played it. Sounds nice for the price - but that's just it, how can it possibly sound as good (or better!?) than a CP300, which is almost 4x's the price?!

The S90ES actually has a larger piano sample than the CP300 (or CP33). It's 54 MB, vs 45MB (I think) for the CP300. If you're okay with balanced action (vs. graded), then you should consider it. It has wonderful piano sounds.

I don't know... it just sounded the same to me? However if i connect my ypg 625 to headphones, it will decrease the sound quality, not with the cp300 tho. By the way I played the cp33 through the monitors they had, and the cp300 through it's own speakers, then quickly I went to try the ypg 625 which was right next to it, and to me it sounded almost the same (about a 15% differential). Might of been that the cp300 wasn't setup right or the speakers busted maybe.

Yeah I liked the 90 ES although second time I trieded it sounded kind of crappy... but it most of been that the speaker broke, could it be the speaker? Yeah must be the speaker. Anyways I think i'm going with the Kurzweil pc3x for now. Anybody know how much ram memory is put into the Kurzweil pc3x Pianos?

I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, and i'm too lazy to look it up, I know it's less than all the other contenders. But it would be a sad day when we base sound quality on Ram size. Specs can tell you a lot about how an instrument will perform - but they can't tell you how it will sound.

Roland RD-700GX is no slouch. I'm a Yamaha fan, having used the S90 for 5+ years and also own a P120. The 700GX has a wonderful-feeling keyboard surface, great action and killer sounds.

Dont know... I tried the Roland 700SX bout 1 month ago and loved it... tried the GX and not so... but I think it must be the AMP its connected to, it may be busted or too old and it's making it sound not so good?

And yeah Gigman.. I agree 100 percent.. thats why im probably gonna end up with the kurzweil

Dude, you have to bring your own headphones or your own amp to the store if you're really serious about listening and comparing sounds... You can't listen to all these different keyboards through different amps/speakers and expect to have an accurate picture of how they sound.

Each amp/speaker/headphone colors the sound a bit in its own way - so you have to pick one (amp/speaker/headphone) and do all your listening thru it. I know, it's easier said than done - who wants to drag their own keyboard amp to the store... but hey, the Kurz. PC3X is over 3K, look at these prices ...so a couple hours of dragging an amp around is certainly not a big deal in comparison to the price tag! :freak::lol:
