Members orangefunk
Got this on my facebook today... had a keyboard for sale in marketplace... Can't believe they target facebook now... Hi seller, Initially, I want your response to this mail to be sent to: hidden for purposes of HCI will like to purchase this item on behalf of my client and i want you to tell me your final asking price for the item. And the mode of payment is Check. As soon as i forward your mailing information such as your full name, address and phone# to my client to mail out the payment. But before this, i want you to know that the payment which will be sent from my client in form of check will be written at the amount more than your item fees. Reason being that, i have commission on the transaction as a middle man and besides. My client is intending to pay off his debt which is has been owing me from the past some month. So i want to know if you're so honest to deduct just the amount for your item and western union the remaining cash through western union money transfer to me. If you're honest to do just this, i want you to email me your full name, address and phone# asap now so that i can forward it to my client to mail out the payment asap. Here is the questions i have for you concerning the item:1)Is the item in good condition? And what is the final asking price?2)Is any WESTERN UNION location where you can send the balance money around you the day you receive the payment?3)Can you make sure you get the payment cashed at your bank the same day you receive it and western union the balance money?4)Can you allow me to send D.H.L (my shipping company) for the pick up and complete the transaction the day you receive the check?5)Can you assure me that you will honestly deduct just your fund and western union the remaining money asap?If yes to all my questions, kindly email me back your full name, address and mobile# asap todayAnd also i want you to go and take the item off advertisement on face book.com so that no one will be able to snatch it from me again. And i will be adding extra $10 for doing that for me o.k?Note: You won't be responsible for western union charges. You have to deduct the western union charges from the payment.I'll like to further with the transaction with my yahoo box which is: hiddenI repeat, your response should goes to: hiddenThanks. Members ChristianRock
I really wonder if there's anyone stupid enough to fall for such an idiotic, moronic, brain-dead trick. There's gotta be people falling for it, if they keep doing it. I just don't get it. It's like buying land in the moon, it's so stupid.
Members TowJam
What is sad is that someone, somewhere, will take the bait. If you like to watch vigilante justice in action, check out this site. Priceless.

But on the up side, I just bought 300 acres of prime Lunar real estate. It includes Tranquility Base and the bottom half of the first Lunar Module. A steal at $100,000! Just wait until we start colonizing up there - I'll be rich!

Members bgi
So true: People still fall for it. That's why they keep the scams coming.

Members TechEverlasting
Although the scam seems absurd there's always someone who's selling something online for the first time or who lacks common sense who will fall for it. For these criminals it's a numbers game, just like email spam. If they send out thousands and thousands of these emails they'll get a few responses. If just one or two of those responders fall for it they've made a nice week's pay. The only way to fight these assholes is to waste their time. I don't suggest doing this if they know your actual identity or personal information, but if you're safely anonymous go ahead and have fun messing with them. Send emails asking questions. Say you've never used Western Union and make them spend hours instructing you on how to do it. Say you sent the money Western Union and make them go to the office to track it. Tell them your company requires that they fill out an ID-10T identification form and submit a picture of them holding it up (this way you get a collection of pictures of scammers holding up signs that say "IDIOT") If enough people do this scamming becomes untenable. Google "scam baiting" for more information on this delightful sport.
