acronyms

Anyways - just got a flyer in the mail from Guitar Center. They've got a really good deal on Native Instruments 'Komplete Synths' -

Massive

Absynth 4

FM8 and

Pro-53

all 4 for $199

Super deal if you don't have any of their stuff yet.

I've already got 2 and 1/2 of them (absynth 2, fm7 and pro-53), but thought I'd pass the info along.

All for for $199.00 ?!?!?! Their web site says $399.00

*grabs credit card*

Wanna send me a copy of that flyer ?

It says August 2008 - 4orty 4ourth anniversary, probably about 35 to 40 pages, full color, and the Komplete Synths deal is in the upper right half of the center stapled page, if that helps.

Maybe they have them in the store? Mine says 'keyboards' on the front cover, because that's the department that sent it to me. It's got a lot of other stuff in it too though.

If I remember right, I think when I bought them, Pro-52/3 was about $150, FM7 was about $175, and Absynth2 was $200. Plus you get Massive, which I guess is about $250.

In the ad, it says 'regular price' $399 $200 'instant rebate'

after $200 instant rebate price = $199.

I'm tempted to get it just for the upgrades and Massive.:thu:

The market is getting competitive. Arturia has a buy one, get one free deal and now NI responds with 4 excellent and established synths for $50 each.

It makes you wonder what these companies have ready to release next year.

That is a very sweet deal. I own Komplete 5 so I won't be doing that of course. If you don't want the full set of stuff it is a sweet deal.

When I bought Komplete (4 at the time, then upgraded later), I thought that I would be playing with Reaktor most of the time. I even bought the extra manuals that don't come with the synth from NI's web page. Reaktor is neato-keen-wicked-awesome, but I find myself playing with FM8 much more these days.

I just pulled this very same flyer out of my mailbox tonight. $199 is on the cusp of being an impulse buy, especially for all 4 of those.

I'm glad someone else here got the flyer to verify it. I'm sure that anyone who goes into a GC store will get the deal. The GC near me always lets me know when NI has a deal cooking.

Do you have any of those 4 yet? If not, it's definitely a standout deal. :thu:

Dang it! Can't the world just stop for one day so we have some time to learn our current synths. And it's not just 1 softy, it's 4 of em to learn.

What the heck are all the colors around the knobs in Massive (what do they represent)?

I remember Piggy was raving about another softy synth with a bunch of synthesis types around the time Massive came out. What was that... That looked pretty dang awesome. Still have ES2 to learn though.

Stuff like Melodyne is a shoe-in, but there are so many softsynths, one must be choosey.

Ah hah.

Let me pick your brain pig, what soft synth in the last 6 months have you raved about? (Not sure if you bought it or not) I can't remember what it was. It seemed like it contained a lot of different types of synthesis. It was only one synth though.

Absynth sounds great, but from the that top 10 list of softies, Zebra 2 sounds awesome. Massive sounds cool, I'll have to look into it more. Man, I could easily see myself buying this NI pack, Zebra 2 and Spectrasonics Omnisphere. Melodyne seems like a must too (although it's not a synth).

See this is the kind of stuff I'm talking about :D it's outta control.

That's the one! Thanks, now I'm off to listen to the NI, Zebra 2 and Gladiator demos. Gladiator sure does have something fizzy up it's sleeve. Have you compared any of these 6 and which you like best?

There's still something about my fizzy that would probably want to fart at the others. But then again, it always wants to fart.

They're all gems unto themselves. I find Zebra 2 sickeningly deep and somewhat intimidating. Absynth is a little easier, and a lot greener.
