Members orangefunk
Any owners here? I heard one a few months back and thought it was amazing. As I am about to move to Norway soon I am thinking about picking one up locally here in the UK as the prices are much cheaper here (About
Members mate_stubb
I don't own the 73, but I do own a 76 and used to own an Electro. The OS allows for shallow triggering to be turned on for the organ section. Even with the hammer action I have on my 76, this feature makes a huge difference. The experience would of course be even more authentic on the action of the 73. Nords are famous for being great on the gig. The sounds cut live through a good stage rig. Only acoustic piano is still somewhat controversial, but the latest piano is a big cut above anything they have released to date.

Members orangefunk
does the Compact have its own stand? I notice the Stage versions can use some kind of (screw in?) stand.
Members eric
No stand for the Compact. It is the same chassis/footprint as an Electro 73. I've owned the Compact and written A TON about it, mostly on MusicPlayer's forum. I'll try to dig up some links for you. Bottom line, I loved it, but had bought it as an uber replacement for my Electro. Since I also use an S90, I did not really need the extra bells and whistles on the Compact and found a few little things that I actually preferred on the Electro. With that said, I do have the Stage 76 on my longer-term wish list for a weighted portable keyboard. Nord really gets their instruments right, particularly in the expressive musicality side and ability to set up pretty cool stuff in rapid fashion. The A/B panels on the Stage and the way in which you can instantly have this massive piano/synth/organ stack, split going with multi-FX is pretty addictive. Members orangefunk
Thanks Eric, I have the RD700GX like you but am thinking a Compact would be a good synth/organ/piano to take to jams as well as a replacement for my CX3, esp if its light enough to walk with... seems like the RD is x 3 the weight! Members mate_stubb
I am happy with my 76 as the "ultimate jam keyboard". It's a little heavier to transport than it could be because I carry a full ATA case instead of a gig bag. But it's all I am bringing to my blues gig with my sit-in band at the moment.
