Members augerinn
Just replaced my first soldered in battery. DX7 MK 1. Pulled the motherboard, cleaned 'er out real well, removed and cleaned all the keys, replaced a couple of broken keys (In stock at Yamaha, $6.00 each) , straightened out all the key contacts. She's perfect now ! I've done backlights too. Also troubleshot a non working R-8. The guy before me butchered the damm thing. Melted plastic from the iron, broken plastic where he pried it apart, he even tried to superglue a couple of broken pads. (They're on order from Roland) My Juno 60 is next. I've heard re-capping is usually suggested on older synths, maybe I'll give that a try. Also, my Kurz has a bad key and a couple of bad Tact switches, and my QS+ also has a couple of bad Tact switches. Now all I need is some service manuals and a O scope and I'm in business Actually, I'll prolly buy a couple of more fixer uppers. This is kinda fun.
