Puh-LEASE help me find a good SOUND LIBRARY for my sampler.

I'm looking for a great ELECTRIC GUITAR sample library with an emphasis on CLEAN, FUNK and STRAT guitars. I'm also looking for a good general large sound library with synth sounds (Think along the lines of Gigapack I & II). I can't seem to find any definitive collection that is worth the cost. All I see are libraries that feature ONE or TWO guitars with a billion samples, as if that matters. I'm looking for SELECTION and a WIDE ARRAY of INSTRUMENTS for Kontakt. (In other words, an ACTUAL LIBRARY).

I've researched this topic for weeks now and am still a confused and frustrated at what each sample CD has to offer in terms of instrument selection. Furthermore, WHY IS IT THAT MANUFACTURERS INSIST ON NOT INCLUDING INSTRUMENT LISTS ON THEIR WEBSITES SO WE CAN SEE WHAT IS ON EACH CD/DVD?

So far, I've looked into the following:

Prominy LPC http://www.prominy.com/les.htm

Sampleheads Whole Lotta Country: http://www.bigfishaudio.com/4DCGI/de...l?:::::::::472

Pettinhouse Direct Guitar: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...p/t-37234.html

This Guitar Forum With Suggestions: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...p/t-37234.html

Humbucker Guitar: http://www.pettinhouse.com/

I don't understand why someone doesn't just put out a GUITAR LIBRARY that features all sorts of guitars. I'm leaning towards the Sample Heads Whole Lotta Country CD since my Roland SRX9 is based on that library. The SRX Expansion board for the Roland XV and Fantom series has a large selection of guitar patches.

Why doesn't this exist in the software realm?

BTW, I'm using Kontakt 3, but it can import any format.

I've seen the Chris Hein CD(s) and wondered about them. There is however, no instrument listing on the site. What is a "large number" of guitars? Are we talking in the hundreds or thousands? Considering I'd be paying $499, which is more than Kontakt cost itself. Do you have experience with this library?

What about other libraries. Particularly synth libraries?

There are a bunch of Synth Specific sampling CD-Roms from British companies on eBay. They have titles such as "Roland JV880", "Korg Wavestation" and "Clavia Nord Lead". Do any of you have experience with those?

Thanks.

Instrument count and sampling quality are not related, and a badly programmed 3 gigabyte piano may sound worse than a well-programmed 64 mb one.

If you look at http://www.chrishein.net/guitar/chg_productsite.htm you see they've recorded several playing styles, too - and programming Kontakt isn't that easy.

Of course they matter. It's the details that add realism.

Otherwise there's an even better solution: buy a guitar and learn to play. Guitar idiosyncrasies don't translate to keyboard that well.

Thank you for the information, but this I already know. I stated that I was looking for a compromise. I'm looking for QUANTITY, not necessarily super quality. As I can play the guitar already, I prefer having a large library of decent quality, not necessarily superb perfection.

Double Rock Platinum Piano is a great example. It came out in 1997 and was an excellent 64MB Piano. The Roland Gigapack II however was an excellent 3000 sound library that was very useful due to the insane amount of patches/instruments.

I'm looking for a great overall library. Not necessarily to spend $500 on one sound. Suppose the sound isn't that great? Too many libraries suffer from the wow effect. You listen to it online or on CD, are wowed, buy it, use it and realize that it wasn't that serious. Gigapack I've had for nearly 10 years and use it everyday.

So again, I'm looking for a Synth LIBRARY and guitar LIBRARY.
