Nice Duran Duran concert on MHD: Jupiter 8 action

I'm enjoying a Duran Duran concert on MHD, it is called "Live at Wembley Arena" from 2000. Nick Rhodes has dual Apex stands in L-config. He has an Andromeda and Jupiter 8 in front and a Kurzweil Kxxx? and V-Synth to the side with a Powerbook tucked in between.

A lot of the tracks sound pre-recorded, but it is cool. His JP8 is extremely careworn with loads of battle scars. Inspiring to see this still on stage.

I've been sitting in with an '80s band that I play with a few times a year. We are doing "Save a Prayer" and "Hungry Like the Wolf." Makes me almost want to bring out the JP8.

I'm a Duran fan myself and this is a great concert indeed. One thing to note is that MHD incorrectly lists the date as 2000, but it was actually filmed in 2004.

Caught their show here earlier this year and it really was fantastic. The band really does a great performance.

I think that's the same Duran Duran concert Comcast has on its On Demand vids. Very cool. I watched it the other night. Nice seeing the Jupiter.

I watch a couple of hours of videos the other day. I also really liked The Bird and the Bees - Again & Again - nice song writing, beautiful vocals, and a cool vid too. Certainly another band that has been influenced by Stereolab.

Badly Drawn Boy - Nothing's Gonna Change Your Mind - good song, and the video's just brilliant.

Here they are on YouTube if anyone's interested:

Badly Drawn Boy is pretty good,

and Something to Talk About are my favorite songs of theirs.

Pretty sure it's a K2600 as per a print or web interview a while back IIRC.

during their last tour the band did an "electro" set about halfway through the show. The drummer had electronic drum pads (maybe a V-drum set?) and the other 3 each played a Korg Radias (2 of them) and a MicroKorg. Did a medley of some of their big hits this way as well as a cover of "Warm Leatherette" which was really quite cool...
