Should I buy a KorgSP250, NordE2 or Roland RD700?

Hi Rafael!

Since you are a pianist, I think weighted keys are important. That leaves you with the RD700(sx) and the SP250 (if you only take those two in consideration..). I would go for the roland, because it has much better pianosamples and rhodessamples, and it has way more sounds (including the VK-tonewheel modelling engine).

Another option might be the Kurzweil PC1X or PC1SE. They both have great pianosounds, great rhodes and a lot of great other sounds (think awesome strings, horns, brass, some synthy stuff..). The PC1SE has 76 keys, so that makes it somewhat more portable.

Also take a look at the new Korg M50-88, that might be an interesting board for you.

Definately check out the new Korg M50-88. It has the superb RH3 weighted action from the SP250 and is a full workstation (less sampling). Piano sounds are very dynamic and varied. Every sound on this board is quality all the way and it's amazing value for money over the competition (I've always used Roland until now). The touchscreen makes everything fast and easy to do.

Korg have just released a free set of vintage EPs over the holiday and they are stunning!

The Electro2 is great for B3 sounds and EPs, but acoustic pianos are really lacking (even if you download the smaller versions of the Nord Stage samples from Nord). As already mentioned, the Electro has a semi weighted waterfall keybed, which is not ideal for piano (although great for everything else). Nord are releasing an Electro3 soon but it's way overpriced like the Stage. (It can use the Stage samples though)
