Members Tomkeen
And there she is.... I love this thing, it sounds sooo good. If my band still existed, I could do everything with this board instead of the two or three boards I used to carry to gigs. Piano's - Wonderful, dynamic, extremely well playable. Just how I like them. EP's - I've played a few real rhodes', and I must say this board comes closer in terms of sound and feel than any other board I've played. Wurly's are great, clavs are funktastic, loveit. KB3 - I expected the KB3 to sound much worse than my previous Nord Electro, but it comes very close. I really like the sounds, and with the improved leslie sim that's coming very soon, I'm pretty sure that it could surpass the Nord (IMO at least). Strings - Fantastic, almost real I would say, very lively and warm. Synths - Not as much programs as on a Korg or Roland, but they're good. Not fantastic, as I like the sound of my blofeld better, but very useable nonetheless. Bass - Very cool, very realistic, and very useable. I haven't really checked out the drums, horns and guitars, but I'm sure they're great. Some pictures: I'll try to record some demo's tomorrow, because hearing is believing obviously.. I don't know yet what I'll be doing with that, probably trade it for another rack-synth (maybe Nord Rack 2x). And my stand isn't strong enough to hold both the Fusion and Kurz, so I also might trade my 8HD for a 6HD (I don't know what it is about that board, but something makes me want to keep it). Members Tomkeen
Nord Rack 2x is a good call. 6HD... I don't know, maybe to have a board that does sampling and FM? Sampling indeed, and for some leads maybe... I really don't ever use FM But it's just a thought for now, I could change my mind a second from now. Wait, hmmm.... Members Gatorkeys
Congrats man, saw you posting over at sonikmatter! How do the strings compare to your PC2-r? I forget, do you have the orchestral ROM for the PC2R? Is the 3 a big difference?
Members Nillerbabs
I have yet another question for you: OK, so you've had a NE2, and it's piano sounds aren't breathtaking. However, I very much do like the sounds on the Nord Stage. But, if you've tried the NS, I'd like to know how you think it compares to the PC3X. Obviously, my own opinion is the only thing that counts for me. But, until I have an opportunity to try the Kurz, I'd like to know.

However, those samples are old, and the ones in the PC3 are all new. The are incredible to say the least. I love them

I haven't tried the newer XL-samples though. To be honest, I just love the Kurzweil piano sound, and the PC3's piano's sound way better than for instance my PC2r. It's more dynamic, warm and playable than any other board I've tried. I like it even better than the Kawai MP8.
Members Tomkeen
Oh, totally forgot... The action of the keys is killer. The build quality is excellent (the faders could be sturdier, but whatever). And I like the color.

Members augerinn
Nice purchase. Congrats ! I love how Kurz has kepy the interface pretty much the same. Just looking at it, I'd feel real comfortable migrating to the PC3 from my antiquated K-2000.
Members Whop Yo Jaw!
Congrats on your new board. How easy is the OS navigation on these new Kurzweils? I'm familiar enough with the big 3's OS's, but I've never explored a Kurz before...

I'm familiar enough with the big 3's OS's, but I've never explored a Kurz before... I think it's pretty easy. The manual is rather good, too, which helps. The physical interface is very effective, which is why I don't think it really needs a bigger display.

Members bdub
Congrats on your purchase! I'm actually going to look at one of these today (the PC3). I'm mostly a Roland guy, but I'm kind of pissed that there were no new ARX boards for the Fantom G at this NAMM that can do a decent B3 or VA. The PC3 seems to be capable of not only those things but of being a decent rompler as well. Does anybody know anything about the VA-1 with regard to number of oscillators, filters, etc? Members Tomkeen
Well I went and recorded one audio demo (piano-sound) but then I found out that Cubase 4 essential doesn't export audio as .mp3 files, which is a shame really. Because soundclick only allows for 128kbps .mp3 files I tried another way. I've made a video with my camera-phone, and I'm uploading to youtube as we speak (type). I'll edit my post and post the link here. Tom
